Journals:

Our Journals which we have kept through out the major stages of our projects have allowed us to reflect on our progress and our struggles as well as give us a chance to plan for what lies ahead.

Journal #1:

"Initially my struggle with getting started was finding a mentor for a project with three different areas of study wrapped into one. I am planning to write a song, record a music video, and animate the video. So the question became, Do I get a musician, a videographer, or a digital animator? In the end I decided to go with a mentor who can help me out in the area I am the least versed in, music production. My mentor is my guitar teacher James Smith he has years of experience as both a guitarist and pianist and has connections to my other instrumentalist who may be able to help out."

Journal #2:

"My project as it stands now has progressed greatly from where it began in September. It started off with me working from lyrics that I had already previously written that I was then attempting to add a tune to, however this process ended up taking me in a different direction. I realized that, for me, it made far more sense to let both the music and the lyrics to be created together and in a more natural way rather than so formulated."

Journal #3:

Since January my project has been making slow but steady progress. I had intended to be done with the recording process for my song by this point, and unfortunately have not been able to achieve that quite yet, but I have been putting in a lot of hard work to get the song just right which in the end is more important.
